Waldemar Wien (* 11 January 1927 in Dortmund; † 12 February 1994 in Kierspe) was a German sculptor.

Life

Wien completed an apprenticeship as a stone sculptor from 1946 to 1948 before studying at the Werkkunstschule Dortmund from 1948 to 1952. From 1952 on he worked as a freelance artist. In 1966 he received the cultural award of the district of Altena. From 1980 to 1988 he was a lecturer for sculptural design at the Music Centre of the Ruhr University in Bochum.

Factory

Waldemar Wien created a large number of public sculptures and fountains. His son Sebastian Wien is also artistically active.
