Tadeusz Lityński (born 14 June 1962 in Kożuchów, Poland) is a Polish clergyman and Roman Catholic bishop of Zielona Góra-Gorzów.

Life

Tadeusz Lityński received the sacrament of priestly ordination for the diocese of Gorzów from Bishop Józef Michalik on 5 June 1988.

On 28 April 2012 Pope Benedict XVI appointed him titular bishop of Cemerinianus and auxiliary bishop in Zielona Góra-Gorzów. The Apostolic Nuncio in Poland, Archbishop Celestino Migliore, consecrated him bishop on 16 June of the same year; co-consecrators were the Bishop of Zielona Góra-Gorzów, Stefan Regmunt, and the Archbishop of Szczecin-Cammin, Andrzej Dzięga.

Pope Francis appointed him Bishop of Zielona Góra-Gorzów on 23 November 2015.[1] The inauguration took place on 5 January of the following year.

Dealing with sexualised violence against children

Conduct in the case of Priest K.

In 2016, he moved the accused and later convicted of pedophilia, Father Ryszard K., from the parish of the Sacred Heart of Jesus in Krzepów to the parish of the Exaltation of the Holy Cross in Sulechów.[2]

Conduct in the case of Priest R.

In 2020, he delayed the initiation of proceedings against his predecessor for covering up pedophile abuse by Fr. Dr. Andrzej R.[3]
