League One 2019/20 ↓

The Scottish Championship was played for the seventh time in 2019/20 as the second highest men’s football division in Scotland. It was also the 114th staging of a second-tier football fixture within the Scottish Professional Football League, which was formed in 2013. The league was officially staged as the Ladbrokes Scottish Championship.[1] The league followed the first-class Premiership and was above League One and League Two as one of the four professional leagues within the Scottish Professional Football League. The season was managed and officiated by the Scottish Professional Football League. The season began on 3 August 2019 and was originally scheduled to end on 2 May 2020.

In the 2019/20 season, ten clubs were to play each other over a total of 36 match days. Each team was to play each other twice at home and away. Dundee FC were relegated from last year’s Premiership and Arbroath FC were promoted from League One.

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the season was cut short early in April 2020.

Dundee United were declared champions and promoted to League One. The promotion and relegation relegation was cancelled. Last placed Partick Thistle were declared relegated.
