Saint-Georges-de-Rex is a commune in the Deux-Sèvres department in the Nouvelle-Aquitaine region in north-central France with 446 inhabitants as of 1 January 2018. It is part of the arrondissement of Niort and the canton of Mignon-et-Boutonne (until 2015: canton of Mauzé-sur-le-Mignon).
Saint-Georges-de-Rex is located about 40 kilometers east-northeast of La Rochelle and about 15 kilometers west-southwest of Niort. Numerous canals run through the municipality. Saint-Georges-de-Rex is surrounded by the neighbouring communes of Le Vanneau-Irleau to the north, Sansais to the east and north-east, Amuré to the east, Le Bourdet to the south, Saint-Hilaire-la-Palud to the west and Arçais to the north-west.
