The N599 was a French national road established in 1933 between Marvejols and the N585 north of Grandrieu. In 1966, the section between Saint-Amans and the N585 was graded and in turn the N600 was extended elsewhere within Lozère. Its length dropped from 55.5 to 25 kilometres. In 1973, it was completely graded.
