Peter Wessely (* 1959 in Vienna) is an Austrian songwriter. Wessely mainly writes lyrics for performers of Schlager and folk music.

Biography

Wessely worked for 20 years as a copywriter and conceptionist in international advertising agencies, where he designed TV and radio commercials for well-known corporations such as the Coca Cola Company, General Motors, Nestle, Unilever, Ford and Mercedes.

Since 2000 Peter Wessely has been working as an author of music lyrics. Together with his wife Gaby, he works for numerous artists in the pop, pop and folk music scene. To date, Peter Wessely has written over 2,500 lyrics, including for DJ Ötzi, the Kastelruther Spatzen, the Nockalm Quintett, the Klostertaler and Stefan Mross. In the pop field, the lyrics of the Christina Stürmer song Liebt sie dich so wie ich (Does she love you as much as I do ), among others, were penned by Peter and Gaby Wessely.

To date, songs by Peter and Gaby Wessely have been certified gold 61 times, platinum 19 times, double platinum three times and triple platinum once.[1]
