Mouhammadou Einstein Jaiteh (born 27 November 1994 in Pantin), sometimes known as Mam Jaiteh, is a French basketball player who currently plays for Avtodor Saratov in Russia. The 208 cm tall and 113 kg man with Gambian and Senegalese roots plays either the position of power forward or center.
Career
Association
Jaiteh won the French Cup with JSF Nanterre in 2014. The following season, he won the 2014/15 EuroChallenge with his club, averaging 8.8 points and 5.5 rebounds. Jaiteh entered the 2015 NBA Draft but was not selected.
In the 2016/17 campaign, he was under contract with SIG Strasbourg, after which he moved on within the French league to Limoges CSP.[1] In November 2018, he left Limoges to accept an offer from Italian first division side Fiat Torino.[2] In the run-up to the 2019/20 season, he moved to Russia to join Avtodor Saratov.[3]
National team
In the summer of 2015, Jaiteh participated in the national team’s preparation for the 2015 European Championships. Although he was not initially included in the final squad, he moved up after Alexis Ajinca’s injury and was eventually used in three games, where he averaged 2.0 points, helping to win the bronze medal.
