Montgru-Saint-Hilaire is a commune with 32 inhabitants (as of 1 January 2018) in the Aisne department in the Hauts-de-France region in France (former region: Picardy). The commune is part of the arrondissement of Soissons and is part of the canton of Villers-Cotterêts.
The commune is located about 20 km (road distance) south of Soissons and 21 km north of Château-Thierry south of the Ourcq and is crossed by the departmental road D79. The Trilport-Bazoches railway line, which meets the Soissons-Reims line at Bazoches-sur-Vesles, runs just outside the commune. The industrial area of the commune is connected by an industrial track. To the west, the stream Le Wadon forms the border with the neighbouring commune of Vichel-Nanteuil. The commune includes the farmstead Le Chêne. Neighbouring communes are Rozet-Saint-Albin and Oulchy-la-Ville to the north, Breny and La Croix-sur-Ourcq to the east, Latilly to the south and Vichel-Nanteuil to the west.
