The Lower Schondra Valley nature reserve is located in the Lower Franconian districts of Bad Kissingen and Main-Spessart to the northwest, west and southwest of Dittlofsroda, a district of the municipality of Wartmannsroth

It stretches along the Schondra between Heiligkreuz, a district of the Wartmannsroth municipality, in the north and the core village of Gräfendorf in the south. South of the area runs the St 2302 and flows the Franconian Saale.


The 179.27 ha large area with the number NSG-00195.01 was put under nature protection in 1983.
