Lena is a municipality in the autonomous region of Asturias in northern Spain. It is divided into 24 parroquias. The main town of the municipality is Pola de Lena.
Location
Bordered on the north by Mieres, on the south by the province of León, on the west by Riosa and Quirós and on the east by Aller.
Geography
Rivers
Across the region and the parroquias are several important rivers that were used in the past for rafting. The most important are Huerna, Pajeres, Caudal and the Aller.

History
The first references date back to the reigns of Ramiro I and Ordoño I, in the 9th century. The construction of the sanctuary of Santa Cristina de Lena also dates back to this period.
In 1266, the municipality was first confirmed by Alfonso X el Sabio in a document called the Carta Puebla.

Places of interest
The pre-Romanesque church of Santa Cristina de Lena
- El mosaico de Vega de Ciego was found in 1921 during excavations of a Roman villa and is now in the Museo Arqueológico de Asturias.

Festivities and celebrations
On the first weekend in July, the “Fiesta del Cordero a la Estaca” (a kind of local festival, with traditional dances, food and music) is celebrated together with the community of Quirós.
