José Ignacio Castillo (born 4 November 1975 in Buenos Aires) is an Argentine footballer who plays in the position of striker. He is a native of Argentina, but also holds Italian citizenship.[1]

Most recently, he was under contract with the traditional Italian club AS Bari.

Castillo began his career in Argentina. There he was discovered by Italian club F.B. Brindisi and later signed in 2001. In Italy, he played in Serie C until 2006, when he was given his first professional contract at Serie B club Frosinone Calcio. However, he made his breakthrough at Pisa when he scored 21 goals in the 2007/2008 season.

In August 2008 he was signed by US Lecce for 1.5 million euros. In the summer of 2009, he moved to AC Florence for €900,000. After only seven appearances and scoring one goal, he moved to AS Bari in January 2010. Castillo signed a two-year contract with the Apulians.[2] This was not renewed in the summer of 2012.
