Jim Scheuer

Jim Scheuer (* 1957 in Mishicot/Wisconsin) is an American music educator and composer.

Scheuer studied at the Lawrence Conservatory of Music in Appleton, Wisconsin. His teachers included Glenn Nelson, bandleader in his hometown, and Herb Hardt, Fred Schroeder and Robert Levy at Lawrence Conservatory. Since the age of sixteen, he has participated as a singer, keyboardist, arranger and MIDI programmer in various rock and dance bands.

Scheuer has taught band music in the Owen-Withee School District since 1980, and has also worked for the Wisconsin School Music Association since 1982, and is a member of the Wisconsin State Honors Band and the Honors Orchestra. In 1992, he was named Teacher of the Year at Owen-Withee Junior and Senior High School. He has composed works for wind ensemble (including I Want to Be Ready, Shadoe Play, Two Native American Songs) and percussionists (WestAfrican Drum Ensemble).
