Elsa Benítez

Elsa Benítez (born December 8, 1977 in Hermosillo, Sonora, Mexico) is a Mexican model.


She started her career after winning a modeling contest in Costa Rica in 1995. After Linda Evangelista was one of her youth idols, she decided to follow her dream of a modeling career. First appearances in Mexico were soon followed by others in the USA and Europe.

In 1996 she appeared on the cover of the Italian “Vogue” issue a total of three times: in April, August and finally in September. After a contract with the Elite Model Agency, she appeared on the covers of many magazines such as “Elle”, “Glamour”, “Mademoiselle”, “Marie Claire” and others.

Further engagements in advertising campaigns followed. She worked for Dolce & Gabbana, Macy’s, Episode, I-N-C, J. Crew, Óscar de la Renta, Rena Lange, Nine West, Valentino, Jones New York and Victoria’s Secret. In 1999, she appeared in the Pirelli calendar. Elsa Benitez also plans to enter the film business and has taken acting classes to do so. She hopes to appear in Spanish and English productions.

She was married to former NBA player Rony Seikaly. The marriage, which produced a daughter, was divorced in the summer of 2005.

Benítez has been confirmed as the host of Mexico’s Next Top Model.
