The canton of Saint-Priest was a French canton in the arrondissement of Lyon and in the Rhône-Alpes region until 2015. It was originally part of the Rhône department and consisted of the town of Saint-Priest. The canton was abolished when, in its catchment area, the Métropole de Lyon replaced the Département Rhône as the superior territorial entity at the turn of 2014/2015 and the cantons lost their function as constituencies.[1] Its last representative in the conseil général des Départements was Evelyne Fontaine (PS), succeeding Bruno Polga (also PS, term 1985-2011).
