Burghard Dedner

Burghard Dedner (* 1942) is a German Germanist and was a university lecturer at the Philipps University of Marburg.

Life

Dedner studied German, history, philosophy and Romance languages and literature in Berlin, Tübingen and Aix-en-Provence. After visiting professorships in the United States, he was Professor of Modern German Literature at the University of Marburg from 1976 to 2007. In 1981 he became director of the Georg Büchner Research Centre and has since been editor of the Georg Büchner Yearbook. He is a member of the Hessian Historical Commission.
