Broken Barricades is the fifth studio album by British progressive rock band Procol Harum. It was released in June 1971.
Reception
Matthew Greenwald writes at AllMusic that the band’s sound is a bit sparser on this album after the departure of organist Matthew Fisher, but “definitely not without greatness and dynamism”. He singles out Simple Sister as “really great” and says it’s one of Gary Brooker and Keith Reid’s best compositions. Other tracks like Power Failure and Playmate of the Mouth are rated as “first class songs”.[1]
